Today marks a milestone for the Gaia’s Essence family. 10 years ago our Founder Farrah La Ronde-Hutchison had the idea of building a company which provided healthy, high quality foods to the community, a company with a vision to change the world. Their initial products included select exotic products from the island of Dominica. It was a great way to work directly with cocoa and hibiscus farmers and make a direct impact in communities around the world. From there it grew into more products. A collection of salt and sugar free spices to cook with and an extensive line of loose leaf teas. Out of the founder love for tea and cooking the tea party concept was created. An opportunity for customers to sample the products in the comfort of their homes with family and friends. The tea parties become very popular and grew into the annual Spring Tea and Corporate Tea events.
Within a few years the products were selected at a NY Whole Foods farmers market event which featured top local products. Then they were made available across the four Long Island, NY stores. They very quickly became customer favorites.
Not only is Gaia’s Essence known for their teas and spices but the name is synonymous with women’s health. In 2009 the very first Gaia’s Essence Women’s Wellness Conference was held. It grew was a small local event to become the leading conferences dedicated to women’s health on Long Island. It is a day where women of all ages attend and be empowered and inspired by health and fitness professionals on living healthier happier lives.
As we look back 10 years we are grateful to the many people who have supported the company over the years and continue to be a part of the Gaia’s Essence movement!
